We hosted a webinar recently on “How to Build Your Best Value Proposition” and in that sales training session, we provided some value proposition templates that you can use by simply plugging in your benefits. This is explained in this short video taken from the webinar and below is a summary of the value proposition templates as well.

Short and Sweet
This is a short value statement or proposition that gets right to the point of the value that you offer. Below is the template and in the brackets is where you need to insert your details.

We help [target audience] to [insert technical, business, or personal value].

Here are some examples of that value proposition template filled in:

We help businesses to improve their ability to effectively manage their inventory levels.

We help businesses to decrease cost of goods sold and administrative time.

We help VP’s of Operations to hit their quarterly production targets.

Connect Technical Value with Business Value
The next example template is one where we share two different value points, stating your technical value and connecting that with your business value.

We help [target audience] to [technical value] and this often leads to [business value].

Here are some value proposition examples with that template filled in:

We help businesses to improve their ability to effectively manage their inventory levels and this often leads to a decrease in cost of goods sold as well as administrative time.

We help VP’s of Ops to decrease in cost of goods sold as well as administrative time and do this by improving their ability to effectively manage their inventory levels.

Connect Technical Value with Personal Value
The next value prop template is similar to the last but instead of linking technical value to business value, we link the technical value with personal value.

We help [target audience] to [technical value] and this often leads to [personal value].

Here are some value prop examples using that template:

We help VP’s of Ops to improve their ability to effectively manage their inventory levels and this often leads to them being able to consistently hit their quarterly production targets.

We help businesses to consistently hit their quarterly production targets and do this by improving their ability to effectively manage their inventory levels.

Connect Business Value with Personal Value
Another version of the last value proposition template with one modification is below where we connect the business value that you offer with personal value.

We help [target audience] to [business value] and this often leads to [personal value].

Here are some value prop examples using that value proposition template.

We help VP’s of Ops to maximize the production capacity and this often leads to them being able to consistently hit their quarterly production targets.

We help businesses to consistently hit their quarterly production targets and do this by improving their ability to maximize the production capacity.

Connect the Product with Value
If you did not notice, all of the value prop templates that we have mentioned so far do not say anything about your product. We do know that sometimes it makes sense to mention the product and this last template is one where we bring in your product and link it to your value.

We provide [insert product] and this helps [target audience] to [insert technical, business, or personal value].

Here are some examples of this template:

We provide inventory management software and this helps businesses to improve their ability to effectively manage inventory levels.

We provide inventory management software and this helps businesses to decrease their cost of goods sold and decrease administrative time.
